Moergele River 莫尔格勒河
The Moergele River, as a tributary of the Hailar River, the upper source of the Heilongjiang River, is renowned for its winding river course and the title of "The First Curved River Under Heaven". Originating from the western foothills of the Greater Khingan Mountains, it flows southwest across the entire Chen Barag Banner, with a length of 319 kilometers and a drainage area of 4,987 square kilometers. The scenic area centers on the most beautiful stretch of the Moergele River, showcasing the unique charm of grassland rivers.
Located in the heart of the Hulunbeir Grassland, the scenic area represents the most important, typical, and representative meadow grassland belt of the Hulunbeir Grassland. With lush water and grass on both bankss, it serves as an excellent natural pasture. The vast grassland, with verdant forage grass, winding rivers, flocks of cattle and sheep, and scattered Mongolian yurts, forms a perfect pastoral landscape.
