Day 1

Arrival in Urumqi

Urumqi Arrival - Hotel Check-in & Free Time

Upon your arrival at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will assist with your transfer to your hotel.​

Hotel Check-in: After a comfortable transfer to the hotel, check-in, freshen up, and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some time to unwind and adjust to the new time zone.

After checking in and settling into your hotel, you’ll have the rest of the afternoon to explore Urumqi at your own pace. There are many fascinating places to visit nearby depending on your interests.

  • Erdaoqiao Market: This vibrant, bustling market is a great place to begin your Urumqi experience. It offers a variety of local Uyghur handicrafts, spices, and traditional products.

Day 2

Urumqi to Korla - Rob People Village, Shennv Lake, and Overnight in Korla

Urumqi to Korla

After breakfast at your hotel, head to the Urumqi Railway Station for your high-speed train to Korla, the capital of Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. The journey takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours, giving you scenic views of the Xinjiang landscape along the way.

Arrival in Korla

Once you arrive in Korla, you'll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Rob People Village (Luopu) Exploration

After checking into your hotel, set off for a visit to Rob People Village (罗布人村寨), a unique cultural and historical site in the Luopu area of Korla.

After breakfast at your hotel in Korla, you'll embark on a scenic road trip to Kuqa (库车), a journey that takes about 3.5 to 4 hours.

Tianshan Mystery Grand Canyon (天山神秘大峡谷)

Once you arrive in Kuqa, head directly to Tianshan Mystery Grand Canyon, one of the region's most remarkable natural attractions.

Upon arrival in Kashgar, head straight to visit the Fragrant Concubine Garden (香妃园), a beautiful and historical site.

The journey will take you through some of the most spectacular landscapes in Xinjiang, with breathtaking mountain views and unique natural beauty along the way.

Scenic Route:

The Karakoram Highway (中巴友谊路) will be your main route, one of the highest paved roads in the world that links China and Pakistan. The highway offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and rivers.

Explore the White Sand Mountain and White Sand Lake

Your first stop along the way will be White Sand Mountain (白沙山) and White Sand Lake (白沙湖景区). The area is known for its vast white sandy dunes, which create a striking contrast with the surrounding rocky mountains and lakes.

Highlights:

Enjoy the desert-like landscape and take in the views of the lake, which is surrounded by stark mountains. It’s an excellent spot for photos and to appreciate the unique beauty of the region.

Karakul Lake and Mount Muztagh Ata

  • The Tarim Desert Highway (塔里木沙漠公路) stretches across the vast Tarim Basin, providing travelers with an unforgettable drive through the heart of one of the largest deserts in the world. You'll witness the breathtaking views of endless sand dunes and the isolated beauty of the desert environment.

  • Along the way, you'll pass several oasis towns, and remote desert landscapes that truly capture the essence of the desert's unique charm.

 

Explore the Taklamakan Desert (塔克拉玛干沙漠)

Depart from Kuche, Visit Bosten Lake, and Return to Urumqi

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and prepare to leave Kuche. Your journey today will take you to Bosten Lake, located about 70 kilometers from Kuche in the Bostan River area.

Visit Bosten Lake (博斯腾湖)

Occupancy The tour requires a minimum of two participants to proceed. Accommodations will be in either double/queen-sized beds or twin-share arrangements. Passport & Visa Requirements All travelers must have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the return travel date. It is essential to start arranging your visa at least 6-8 weeks before departure to accommodate potential delays from consulate processing times. Travel Insurance We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance immediately after booking your package. Be sure to carry a copy of your travel insurance documents, including relevant international contact numbers, while on tour. Health & Vaccinations Consult with your local health professional at least 45 days before departure, as some vaccinations require a 30-day period to be effective. Access to healthcare services such as doctors, dentists, and optometrists may be limited during the tour. Ensure you have adequate health insurance coverage included in your travel insurance. Luggage Travelers are permitted two items of luggage each: One suitcase, weighing up to 20kg One piece of hand luggage, weighing up to 5kg Porterage Porterage is not guaranteed throughout the trip. If available, a tip is recommended. Tipping Tipping and gratuities are not included in the package. A customary tip of approximately RMB320 per person (AU$67) should be paid locally in China. Fitness Requirements Travelers should be in good physical condition and able to participate independently in activities and tours as outlined in the itinerary. Sightseeing at many sites involves climbing stairs, navigating uneven terrain, and walking from bus parks to entrances. Dietary Requirements Any dietary needs must be communicated to AOMO Travel at least 30 days before departure. While we strive to accommodate special dietary requests, some limitations may arise due to location or ingredient availability. It is advisable to carry necessary supplies with you. Flights Prices include airline fuel surcharges and taxes. Depending on flight schedules, you may need to depart or arrive on Day 2. Changes might be necessary due to weather, public holidays, seasonal timetable adjustments, or unforeseen circumstances. The order and timing of activities may vary. Availability Trips are available on a request basis and subject to availability. You will receive a payment confirmation and booking confirmation within 72 hours of booking.
